ACHIEVING ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS

Align is a game in which participants receive challenges, events, chance cards and dilemmas. These game elements trigger discussion and reflection on values and key behaviours.

Participants will gain insights in how living the values every day helps themselves, their teams and ultimately their organization to be successful.

Digitalized game played on iPads

The Align game is a digitalized game in which, within two hours, players, will understand and experience the organizational values, accompanying behaviours and the effect of it. During the game, players experience challenges, events, chance cards and dilemmas.

Each player has an individual score on the core values and the three organizational result areas (employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and total sales) to influence and monitor during the game.

The aim of the game is to generate the highest result on the organizational score as one organization. The game can be played multiple times by all levels in the organization.

It is not hard to make a decision when you know what your values are.

Key part

The Align game is a key part of the core values implementation process, to introduce, explore and understand core values. The main objectives of the game are:

  • To help participants recognize the link between daily challenges, the core values and success.
  • To excite employees to take decisions and act in accordance with the core values.
  • To experience behaviour aligned with the core values and learn to discuss and apply a combination of values in challenging daily activities.
  • To experience the (negative) impact of non-compliance on risks, customer satisfaction, quality and collaboration with colleagues.

The above is not to be achieved in a forcing, pedantic or manipulative way, but through exploration, interaction and dialogue.

Participants:

When I heard our core values for the first time, I thought this is, again, something made up by headquarters and not really relevant for me. After playing this game I really get why we have these core values and how I can apply this into my daily activities.”

“I really liked playing this game with my team and discussing together how to encounter challenges or respond to a dilemma aligned with our core values.”

“This game helped me to start the conversation about what we should do or stop doing so we grow together as one organization and achieve our ambitions.”

“During the game as a team we had so much fun figuring out all the questions and reaching for the highest score. Loved it!”

I never realized that (not) acting according to these values would impact the overall performance of an organization. It really opened my eyes.

Client specific content

Align is played by insurance companies, banking, IT and high tech industries. The online version of Align is built in such a way that client specific content is developed on top of the existing game engine. This greatly reduces development time and costs.
